Mill Hall – Community members from Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Mifflin counties are invited to celebrate the power of small business during National SBDC Day on Tuesday, March 18 from 1-3 p.m.
Hosted by the Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the event will highlight Nittany Valley Holistic Health – a multi-service, collaborative wellness space that supports both whole person care and entrepreneurial development.
National SBDC Day is a nationwide celebration recognizing the impact of America’s Small Business Development Centers on local economies and business success. Organizers said this year’s event offers attendees an opportunity to see that impact firsthand.
Guests will get an inside look at the diverse, wellness-focused businesses that call Nittany Valley Holistic Health home, including SBDC clients Sport and Spine Chiropractic Rehab, Jennifer Walker LCSW, LLC and A Journey to Here, as well as additional providers offering massage therapy, performance training, yoga, aesthetics and more.
Attendees will be able to:
– Explore the collaborative wellness area.
– Meet business professionals and entrepreneurs.
– Learn how SBDC mentorship and resources supported their growth.
– Connect with fellow community members who support local businesses.
Representatives from both state and local government will also be in attendance to lend their support to small businesses throughout the region.
“We are excited to have community members join us as we celebrate small business success and the power of community partnerships with Nittany Valley Holistic Health,” said Penn State SBDC Director Tim Keohane. “The business people who create this wellness community exemplify how hard work combined with access to business resources can create meaningful impact for their clients.”
The Penn State SBDC provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with educational workshops, referrals to partner organizations, and strategic guidance to help launch and grow businesses, as well as no-cost, confidential counseling.
In 2025, the center served more than 940 clients in Centre, Clinton, Lycoming and Mifflin counties, helped start 32 new businesses, supported the creation of 139 jobs and assisted clients in raising $8.7 million in capital.
These results “underscore the continued strength and resiliency of Pennsylvania’s small business community,” the SBDC said.
Community members interested in attending the March 18 event can register on the event page. Small business owners seeking free, confidential, one-on-one counseling and educational seminars are encouraged to visit the Penn State SBDC website, www.sbdc.psu.edu, to learn more.
