We started the holiday weekend by staying indoors on Friday instead of going to the beach as we had planned. It was 98°, and the idea of sitting on hot sand seemed impossible. But we reached Gloucester at night to see the fireworks to celebrate the 250th. Izzy, my young cousin, worked on the fireworks team this year, and I wonder if she designed the show. It was extraordinary!
Hopefully Saturday, July 4th, will be a little cooler so we can go to the Beach Club!
