On Friday, Jeff, his older daughter, and I went to the Boston Museum of Science. The joint was definitely hopping as it was school holidays. But really, it was great to see so many kids and parents at the museum. The children were very engaged with all the exhibits, and so were we! Particularly important and meaningful when governments are cutting funding for science and education.
Although we had also planned to visit the planetarium, the machine that showed us the stars was being repaired. So instead, we went to the museum’s IMAX theater and watched Deep Space, a short film about the James Webb Space Telescope. The pictures JWST sent back to Earth were incredible. We got a close-up view of the “rocks” in deep space where stars are being born! We saw another picture of three galaxies colliding.
I hadn’t been to a science museum in over 20 years, and wow, had it changed!
