There are some brands that, if I had an unlimited budget, I would buy all the time. PCA Skin is one of those brands. PCA Skin is a science-based brand that serves not only consumers like us but also professionals. Actually, PCA stands for Physician Care Alliance. Additionally, PCA Skin is the #1 professional chemical peel brand among estheticians.
But today, I am not writing about chemical peels. Instead, I will review PCA Skin Silkcoat Balm. The product has been renamed SilkCoat Balm for Aging and Sensitive Skin. So PCA Skin Silkcoat Balm is perfect for dry, mature skin like mine.
I started using this balm in March when the temperatures were still very cold and chilly. It was definitely a panacea for cold days, especially when I was spending time outside. It is also recommended for any harsh climate including dry summer.
If you need hydration like my skin, the PCA Skin Silkcoat Balm is ideal. It has the consistency of mousse: white fluff! Its silk proteins provide deep, but non-greasy hydration.
This hydrator provides powerful antioxidant protection to the skin while soothing and improving the appearance of mature skin. Now that spring is here, I often use PCA Skin Silkcoat Balm as a nighttime moisturizer. It’s great because it doesn’t stain my pillow like some other super-hydrating moisturizers.
Main ingredients include:
- Jojoba Seed Oil: A Natural Moisturizer
- Vitamin E/Tocopherol: A well-known antioxidant and emollient that protects lipids in the body, including cell membranes, from free radical damage and softens and soothes the skin.
- Hydrolyzed Silk: A light, non-greasy moisturizer (it’s a mousse-like consistency!).
- Squalane: Oil derived from olives or wheat germ (probably avoid this if you’re gluten free) which protects fats/lipids within the body, including the skin, by supporting the skin barrier
